Technical Inside Sales

The most important thing first:
  • Employment location: Eichenzell
  • Employment: Full-time
  • Start date: Immediately

Here’s what it’s all about

As an internal technical sales representative in the automation solutions division, you will manage the pricing and quoting process—handling the entire workflow from the initial inquiry through to the purchase decision. You will support the field sales team and play a key role in driving revenue growth and fostering customer loyalty. Once an order is received, you will assist the order fulfillment team in implementing the projects.

Your tasks:

  • Reviewing inquiries, assessing needs, providing technical clarification on customer inquiries, and initiating feasibility studies
  • Preparation of technical proposals, including cost estimates, taking into account factors such as production capacity, process capability, lead times, and cost structures
  • A point of contact between external sales, engineering, purchasing, and production to ensure smooth order processing.
  • Tracking quotes and their status; maintaining customer and quote data in the CRM system.
  • Assistance in negotiating terms, delivery conditions, and delivery dates.
  • Contract review with creation of order-relevant data for the order processing interface
  • Evaluate post-project cost analyses and take action
  • Ensuring that orders are approved, documented, and that complaints are handled on time, both internally and externally
  • Maintenance of sample and bill-of-materials lists, unit cost calculations, and production and approval processes.

What you bring with you:

  • Completed technical or business vocational training (technician / degree in engineering) or a comparable qualification, and ideally professional experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Initial professional experience in technical inside sales, ideally in contract manufacturing or production.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing quotes, cost estimation, and creating bills of materials and order entries.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP/PPS systems.
  • An analytical, structured approach to work, with attention to detail and a focus on service.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written German; knowledge of English is a plus.
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with Production, Purchasing, and Sales.
  • In addition, you have strong organizational skills and a proactive, independent, team-oriented, and reliable work style.
  • You have experience and knowledge in sales, and you can identify opportunities and the factors that influence decision-making

As you can see, this position requires true all-round talent – equipped with organizational and communication skills, a flair for numbers and an overview, even when things get stressful, you always maintain an organizational overview.
