WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE implements sophisticated processes in cleanroom assembly

A newly constructed clean room expands the range of assembly and production services. Within a few months, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE implements demanding customer projects and sets the course for further expansion of the portfolio.

Precision, accuracy and efficiency

Precision, accuracy and efficiency are of fundamental importance for quality, cost-effectiveness and competitiveness in the industrial production and assembly of individual components and modules. Driven by increasing demands on the performance of electronic components, more and more products place the highest demands on cleanliness and environmental conditions in manufacturing processes. Even the slightest contamination of the air, the wrong ambient temperature or fluctuating humidity can have a negative impact on the quality of the end product and cause complex systems to fail. Particularly demanding tasks can therefore only be carried out properly under cleanroom conditions.

Prompted by a last-minute request from a demanding customer, those responsible at WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE decided to create capacity for the assembly of sophisticated sub-assemblies in the form of a 7 m x 7 m clean room. The cleanroom, including a 1990 mm x 720 mm laminar flow workbench, was built by the contracted service provider in just seven months. In January 2024, it was put into operation as a cleanroom-like cleanroom in a first step for the assembly of components. The facility received its status as a fully-fledged cleanroom at the beginning of 2024, following certification of the proven performance of the air conditioning and ventilation technology used. The cleanroom classes achieved were ISO 6 for the room, ISO 5 for the laminar flow box and ISO 7 for the airlock.

With the newly created conditions, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE offers demanding customers optimum conditions for the assembly of systems for the production and testing of displays and microchips, subassemblies for the aerospace industry and assemblies for scanning electron microscopes. Overall, the long-established company is expanding its portfolio of services for projects with the highest cleanliness requirements. The clean room and the installed components are designed in such a way that component weights of up to 1,000 kg are no obstacle.

With the new clean room, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE is adding to its state-of-the-art machinery and expanding its expertise and capacity for the most demanding projects on the basis of many years of experience, coupled with contemporary and innovative strength.

“As a successfully grown, owner-managed company, we have been pursuing a growth strategy for more than 50 years that simultaneously underlines our corporate philosophy as a traditional family business and has established us as an innovative global partner,” emphasizes Sebastian Wassermann, second-generation Managing Director of Wassermann Technologie GmbH in East Hesse. “With our new cleanroom, we are continuing to invest in the future and are specifically tapping into new business areas and customer groups.”

In addition to this, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE is primarily planning to optimize its own production processes. Here, those responsible are currently concentrating above all on the possibilities in the area of upstream parts cleaning. While this is currently still being carried out, at least in part, by external cleaning service providers, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGIE intends to create the necessary conditions this year to carry out the majority of cleaning processes in-house.
